Celebrating 50 years of women in HBS

Fifty years ago the Harvard Business School faculty voted to allow women to apply for the full two years of the MBA Program. What is seen as the milestone in the School’s history, contributed to the emergence of a new generation of women in business: young, goal-oriented and thriving for success.

Today, when women make up to 40 percent of the HBS’s entering class, Harvard University came up with an idea to celebrate 50 years of women in the Harvard Business School during the 2012-13 academic year.

Harvard Club of Russia which comprises 42 HBS female alumni, was proud to organise a panel discussion led by Ayuna Badmaeva (GMP 2012) with Ekaterina Rudelson (Egon Zender, MBA 1998), Natalia Kuznetsova (Cabinet Lounge, MBA 2011), Ekaterina Chernova (Leanvest Group, GMP 2012), Elena Evgrafova (Harvard Business Review, Russia), Olga Semchishina (TNK-BP, AMP 2012), Marina Zhigalova-Ozkan (Walt Disney CIS, MBA 2001), Julia Bojko (McKinsey, MBA 2011), Konstantin Abramov (Russian Public Opinion Research Center, WCIOM).

The speakers presented their ideas on the challenges and opportunities for business women in Russia, state of gender relations and shared their stories of success.
